Privacy Policy

Effective date: October 21, 2026

This policy explains what information Daily Desk Tools (dailydesktools.com) collects, how it is used and the choices you have. The site is operated by [Add business or owner name in src/config/site.ts] (“we”, “us”).

1. The short version

  • Our tools run in your browser. What you type, paste or upload into a tool is not sent to our servers.
  • We use cookies and similar technologies for analytics and advertising, with your consent where the law requires it.
  • We do not sell your personal information for money. Advertising cookies may count as “sharing” under some US state laws, and you can opt out.

2. Information you enter into tools

Text, numbers, dates and files you use with our tools are processed locally by your browser. They are not transmitted to, stored on or logged by our servers. Closing or refreshing the page clears them, unless a tool clearly says it saves something on your device.

3. Information collected automatically

Like most websites, we and our service providers may collect:

  • Technical data such as browser type, device type, operating system and screen size.
  • Usage data such as pages visited, time on page and the site that referred you.
  • An approximate location derived from your IP address (for example, country or city).

Our hosting provider may keep standard server logs, including IP addresses, for security and to keep the site running.

4. Cookies and local storage

We use the following categories:

  • Essential (local storage): remembers your light or dark theme and your cookie choice. These stay on your device.
  • Analytics: Google Analytics 4 helps us understand which tools are used and how to improve them.
  • Advertising: Google AdSense shows ads that keep the site free.

If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, analytics and advertising cookies are only set after you accept them. Elsewhere, you can turn them off at any time using “Cookie settings” in the site footer. You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings.

5. Google Analytics

We use Google Analytics 4, provided by Google LLC, to measure traffic and usage. Google Analytics uses cookies to collect information such as pages viewed and session length. We do not send the content of your tool inputs to Google Analytics. You can learn more in how Google uses information from sites that use its services and opt out with the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on.

6. Advertising and Google AdSense

  • Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your previous visits to this website and other websites.
  • Google’s use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visits to this site and/or other sites on the internet.
  • You can opt out of personalized advertising in Google’s Ads Settings. You can also opt out of some third-party vendors’ use of cookies for personalized advertising at aboutads.info or, in Europe, youronlinechoices.eu.

For more detail, see how Google uses cookies in advertising.

7. Contact form and email

If you contact us, we receive the name, email address and message you choose to send. We use it only to reply and keep a record of the conversation. If our contact form is powered by Formspree, your message is processed by Formspree on our behalf under its own privacy policy.

8. Legal bases (EEA and UK visitors)

We rely on your consent for analytics and advertising cookies, and on our legitimate interests to keep the site secure and working and to reply to messages you send us.

9. How long we keep information

Analytics data is kept for the retention period set in our Google Analytics account (no longer than 14 months). Emails and contact messages are kept for as long as needed to deal with your inquiry and then deleted, unless we must keep them for legal reasons.

10. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:

  • access the personal information we hold about you, and get a copy of it;
  • ask us to correct or delete it;
  • object to or restrict certain processing, or withdraw consent at any time;
  • opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information and targeted advertising (for example, under California law);
  • complain to your local data protection authority.

These rights apply under laws including the EU and UK GDPR, US state privacy laws such as the CCPA/CPRA, Canada’s PIPEDA and Australia’s Privacy Act. To make a request, use our contact page and choose “Privacy request”. We will not discriminate against you for exercising your rights.

11. International transfers

Our service providers, including Google and our hosting provider, may process data in countries other than your own, including the United States. Where required, they rely on approved safeguards such as standard contractual clauses.

12. Children

Some of our tools are designed for families. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 (or the minimum age in your country). Our tools do not ask for personal details. If you believe a child has sent us personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.

13. Security

The site is served over HTTPS. Because tools process your data locally, it never travels to us. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect the information we do receive.

14. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We will change the effective date at the top of this page when we do, and make significant changes clear on the site.

15. Contact
