How to use the online notepad
- 1Start typing. Your notes save automatically after every change.
- 2Change the text size or switch to a monospace font for code and lists.
- 3Close the tab whenever you like. Your notes are still here when you come back in the same browser.
- 4Copy or download your notes as a .txt file to keep them elsewhere.
Where your notes are stored
Notes are saved in your browser's local storage on this device. They are never uploaded, so nobody else can read them, and they are available offline once the page has loaded.
Because they live in this browser:
- they will not appear on your other devices or other browsers;
- clearing your browsing data, or using a private window, removes them;
- anyone using the same browser profile can see them.
For anything important, use Download to keep a copy as a text file.

- Drafting messages before pasting them somewhere else
- Holding text while you reorganize a document
- A scratch pad for numbers, links and to-do items
If you clear the notepad by mistake, press Undo straight away to bring the text back.

Are my notes private?
Yes. They are stored only in your own browser and are never sent to our servers.
Will my notes be there tomorrow?
Yes, as long as you use the same browser on the same device and do not clear its site data. Private or incognito windows forget them when closed.
Can I open my notes on my phone?
Not automatically, because nothing is synced. Download or copy the text to move it to another device.
